It follows a thematic approach over eighteen units of work.

All three strands, Reading, Writing and Oral Language, are integrated using a theme, genre and comprehension strategy.

Activities for writing genre, oral language text type, grammar and phonics are included for each unit.

 Skills Book for 4th Class includes activities to support all components of the programme. The reading, writing and oral language lessons are designed to complement and support each other.

Fully Integrated Skills Book

Includes 18 genre-based extracts from a wide variety of new and well-loved children’s literature.

Genres integrated include Writing to Socialise, Explanation, Recount, Report, Procedure and Narrative.

An Introduction and reflection for each genre are provided.

Poetry and reading goals are included in every unit.

 4th Class programme includes a fun and engaging class reader, filled with fiction and non-fiction texts. The reader features extracts from quality children’s literature that demonstrate the genre.
